Over the past few weeks our preschool children have been fascinated as they watched the process of metamorphosis, the process of insect transformation from an immature form to an adult form in two or more stages.
We brought some caterpillars to nursery and the children watched as they changed into chrysalises, then hatched into butterflies!
After feeding the butterflies with fruit and flowers to ensure they were strong enough, we released the butterflies into our garden.
It was a beautiful site and fantastic to watch the children learning through nature, a key part of our ethos
